1. Perdana Botanical Garden
With a massive lake at the spotlight, Perdana Botanical Garden is a well-known recreational park in Kuala Lumpur. The park consist of several gardens such as the Hibiscus Garden, Sunken Garden, Laman Perdana, and Herbarium. With its lush greeneries, blossoming flowers and charming architecture, it is relatively easy to find a spot shielded from the sunlight for a fantastic picnic experience.
Locals love it. During weekends especially, you will see them take a morning jog to break some sweat or inspiring photographers taking some great shots around the area. Their lakeside paths make a gorgeous backdrop if you plan to have a stroll.

2. KLCC PARK
Located right in the middle of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, this is a hotspot for the city casual strollers and picnic goers. With the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, one of the tallest twin tower in the world showing its glory and dominance beside the park, it serves as a fantastic view and landmark.
What really makes this park extremely special is the Lake Symphony. During night time, a dazzling show of choreographed water fountains dancing on top of the lake with vibrant colors, giving the spectators a show of their life. 3. Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM)
A beautiful small waterfall in a grassy area. Forest Research Institute Malaysia is known for its hiking spots as well as picnic at Sungai Kroh.
Facilities such as shelters, restrooms, cafeteria and prayer space are provided. You may enjoy jogging, trekking, bird watching, and even camping here. The surrounding is relatively a great spot for forgetting your every day life problems for a bit.

4. Bagan Lalang Beach

5. Desa Park City

6. Kepong Metropolitan Park

7. Taman Eko Rimba Kanching Waterfalls (Hutan Lipur Kanching)
While not exactly located in KL and the furthest away from the city in this list, this place just have so much charm you might just give it a try. If you want to go for a picnic at waterfall, then Kanching Waterfalls will cater to your needs for escape from stress. Kanching Rainforest Waterfall comprises 7 tiers, but most people set up their picnic spots at Levels 2 and 3. Bathing and swimming in the clean river feels great and refreshing.
To those who wants to go for a hiking, there is a hiking path and it gets steeper from level 5 onwards. Therefore, it provides a good challenge for fitness freaks and you will also be rewarded with less people and more visually stunning surrounding views. Admissions are RM2 for Malaysians and RM5 for non-Malaysians, as well as RM2 for parking.
